1.) Q. Who is affected by Kyleigh’s Law?

2.) Q. What are the 6 points of ID for the road test?
A. In order to obtain licenses and permit at the MVC, you must prove your identity by providing 6 points of ID for verification. Log onto http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Licenses/6PointID.htm for more information.
3.) Q. Why do we need to send an original birth certificate or passport? How long will you have it?
A. The Motor Vehicle Commission will only accept an original US passport; birth certificate or certified copy of the birth certificate issued by the town or city your child was born in. We will have your documents until the end of the behind-the-wheel lessons are completed.
4.) Q. Can I use my own car for the road test?
A. Yes. A registered vehicle with current inspection sticker and insurance card may be used. Vehicle must also have an emergency break in the center console. Examiner must be able to reach either the foot brake or parking brake. If you do not have a car with these specifications we offer road test service.
5.) Q. What if my child is already 17 years old? Does he/she still need lessons?
A. A 17 year old is not required by law to take behind the wheel instruction with a driving school, however it is strongly recommended that all new drivers receive professional instruction in order to aid in safety. In addition, the 6 hour course will qualify your 17 year old for a reduction on your insurance policy.
6.) Q. What if my child has not taken drivers ed. and/or taken/passed the written test?
A. Easy Method offers “in-office” written test service, including tutoring. (by appointment)
7.) Q. Is Easy Method insured? Does a student need to obtain his/her own insurance before lessons could start?
A. Easy Method Driving School is fully insured. The student is not required to obtain his/her own insurance. While in our vehicles, the student is covered under our insurance.
8.) Q. What kind of vehicle will be used for the lessons?
A. Most of our vehicles are Toyota Corollas. Each is outfitted with dual controls (a separate brake and mirror for the instructor). Vehicles are inspected annually to ensure that they meet MVC regulations for mechanical operations and safety features.
9.) Q. How are the 6 hours broken up?
A. Generally we instruct in two-hour intervals; a total of 3 lessons.
10.) Q. My child just got a drivers license. What are the probationary driver license restrictions?
A. - Display red decals (see first question)
- No driving between the hours of 11:01 pm and 5:00 am
- Parents, guardian or dependents are allowed as passengers
- Only one additional person allowed unless accompanied by a parent
- No use of cell phones
- Seat belts must be worn at all times, by all passengers
